Ice ridge in the North West Passage

The friends who
makes it possible

Big adventures aren’t possible without either great sponsors or a lottery ticket with nine winning numbers. I’m terrible at gambling – but luckily, I’m blessed with amazing sponsors!

Åsnes

Åsnes skis have been my faithful companions on every adventure, big and small. It all started with a pair of Breidablikk I found second-hand on finn.no, and continued with Amundsen skis for my Greenland crossing.

Once, when I was off to do a ski touring trip in Hemsedal and then cross Hardangervidda, I somehow managed to leave my ski bag at home (my flat was so tiny that I’d stashed it out on the balcony – out of sight, out of mind!). Luckily, friends lent me a pair of Rabb and Nansen skis, so the trip went ahead after all.

For my South Pole and Northwest Passage expeditions, it was the Ousland skis that did the hard work. A small tip: stickers really don’t stick well to that coating, so if you’re keen to pimp them up with glitter and unicorns, be prepared to use a few tubes of superglue. On the plus side, snow and ice stick just as poorly!
